About Us

Eliot Kimber has been applying generalized markup in some form or another to documents of all types for more than 30 years. He has been working with Publishers for more than 10 years and applying DITA to the business challenges of Publishers for more than 7 years. He has worked with all sorts of Publishers, from small to large, from journals and magazines to textbooks to trade books. 
Eliot was a founding member of the W3C XML Working Group, is a founding and current member of the OASIS DITA Technical Committee, a co-editor of the ISO/IEC HyTime standard with Dr. Charles Goldfarb and Steve Newcomb, and a contributor other SGML and XML standards over the years. You can find Eliot on the Yahoo DITA User's Group and other DITA community discusion venues.
Eliot is founder and principal contributor to the DITA for Publishers open source project and a contributor to the DITA Open Toolkit.
Eliot is the author of DITA For Practitioners, available in print and EPUB/Kindle format from XML Press. The book itself was authored in DITA XML using the DITA for Publishers vocabulary and produced in all of its forms using the DITA Open Toolkit, customized and extended by the author.
